The Kosovo Rugby Federation (KRF) was founded in September 2018, growing out of Kosovo's existing rugby community — a mix of local and international players from different backgrounds already playing informally in Pristina.
The first domestic club competition was held in 2019. On 3 December 2021, Rugby Europe formally accepted Kosovo as a member. Kosovo made its first international appearance on 11–12 June 2022 in Malta.
To promote rugby union and its values — respect, teamwork and discipline — across all of Kosovo's communities, building a new generation of players and sustainable clubs.
Kosovo recognised as a rising rugby nation in the region, with strong infrastructure, active clubs in every city, and national teams competitive on the European stage.
